Ben Roethlisberger says the Steelers should move Kendrick Green to guard

Rookie Kendrick Green has struggled mightily at center this season. He just looks out of place at a position that he made four starts at in college. However, the Steelers for some reason, plugged him in at center as a Day 1 starter and didn't realize until Week 17 that J.C. Hassenauer was a better option.

Ben Roethlisberger was on the DVE Morning Show on Friday to talk about Monday night's game against the Browns and his last game at Heinz Field. But he also had an interesting opinion on Green, which many Steelers fans would agree with.

“I think K.G. at some point should get moved to guard, and he will dominate this league at guard," Roethlisberger said. "He just has the extra fire and passion, and you can have that at guard. At center you can’t afford to get in a fight every couple of plays.”

It's interesting that Roethlisberger just flat-out said Green would be better at guard. How did Kevin Colbert and the now since departed offensive line coach Adrian Klemm not notice this? Nevertheless, hopefully the Steelers move Green to guard in 2022 and draft Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum. That would make up for their miss on Green as a center.

Roethlisberger also said Dan Moore Jr. is the left tackle for the future.

"He’s got heart, he’s got passion, he’s smart and he’s very, very good," Roethlisberger said of Moore. "He’s going to be the left tackle of the future for this football team and he’s going to be very good at it.”
