Ben Roethlisberger's new contract details are out

(Joe Sargent/Getty Images)

The Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger have been hard at work at working out a new contract that would benefit both parties. Now that it has finally been worked out, we now have some of the details of the contract. Per Adam Schefter, he has "willing reduced his pay to $14M from 19M in this final year of his contract... It lowered the cap hit by over 15M..."

That is quite a significant reduction to the contract. So, hopefully, that reduction helps the Steelers make some moves and bring back some key pieces and possibly help the Steelers reach the Super Bowl once again. It will be interesting to see where the Steelers sit right now in regards to the cap.

Gerry Dulac said that the deal is one year for $14 million. So, that is a good deal for the Steelers and it should give us plenty of flexibility cap-wise. We'll see if the Steelers bring back JuJu Smith-Schuster on a long-term deal.

Ben Roethlisberger will be a Free-Agent after 2021. Will this be it for Ben? One last ride?
