The Steelers had their first OTAs practice today and veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was in attendance. Judging by the video below by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, it looked like they had a good amount of players at the voluntary session also.
Jeff Hathorn of 93.7 The Fan posted a video of Roethlisberger completing a deep pass down the left sidelines to Steelers' first-round pick Najee Harris. Granted it was routes on air, but it was still good to see, especially Roethlisberger's arm strength. His arm looked just fine at the age of 39.
Veteran defensive tackle Cameron Heyward was also at the OTAs practice today and said it's important for leaders like himself and Roethlisberger to get to know the younger players right from the beginning.
"For me and Ben, we try to cultivate relationships right now," Heyward said. "We try to learn different guys at positions. That just comes with time. I think there is growth that can happen for a younger guy talking to an older guy. Younger guys try to emulate older guys during this time."
