Steelers.com this morning posted a bunch of photos of players reporting to the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex for training camp, and the photo of Ben Roethlisberger arriving got a lot of people's attention given the recent news on the future Hall of Famer.
Ryan Burr, who has worked for NBC Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports Pittsburgh (now AT&T Sportsnet) sent out a series of tweets last week regarding Roethlisberger and what he was hearing from his camp.
The most noteworthy being that Roethlisberger is taking a Tom Brady approach to his diet, and it's reportedly even stricter than Brady's.
"Ben camp says (the) biggest concern is weight loss," Burr tweeted. "He has been so driven since (the) season ended. Source says his diet is stricter than (Brady's)."
Roethlisberger's weight and physical shape are always a topic of discussion, and it seems like every year a report comes out that says he's in the "best shape" of his career. However, judging by the photo that Steelers.com posted of Roethlisberger today, he really just looks the same as any other time.
Roethlisberger reported to training camp with a T-shirt on that said "different" so perhaps Roethlisberger has been on a stricter diet, but I'm skeptical that it's stricter than TB12's diet. I just can't see Roethlisberger eating avocado ice cream. Last week's report might have had some truth, but it was probably exaggerated. Ben looks like the same old Ben.
