It has been reported Maurkice Pouncey is expected to retire in the offseason. He has been telling teammates he plans on retiring. It was also being reported that Ben Roethlisberger was crying after being eliminated by the Browns because he knew Maurkice Pouncey was going to retire after the 2020 season. Jim Colony of 93.7 The Fan has said Ben Roethlisberger is trying to convince Maurkice Pouncey to come back for one more season.
Colony said on the radio: “If the quarterback is telling his center ‘don’t retire, have that change of heart, don’t retire’ well guess what that means for the quarterback, that means he intends to come back.”
Pouncey has told the media that he will retire when Ben Roethlisberger decides to retire. This sounds like a change in heart after being eliminated from the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the playoffs. If Maurkice Pouncey feels he is done playing football he should retire. He should not let Ben Roethlisberger convince him to come back unless he is 100 percent committed to playing football. Pouncey has had one helluva ride with the Pittsburgh Steelers and if this is truly it for him then it will be the right decision for him to make. Hopefully, we hear about his decision soon.
