Art Rooney II: "We are Pleased to Extend Coach Tomlin and are Confident in Winning another Lombardi"

News broke this morning that the Pittsburgh Steelers are extending Head Coach Mike Tomlin to a new three-year contract through the 2024 season. Many thought Tomlin would be placed on the hot seat going into the 2021 season, but those who do follow the Pittsburgh Steelers closely know there was no chance of Art Rooney II letting Mike Tomlin go onto the open market.

Art Rooney II on extending Coach Tomlin: "I am pleased to announce we have extended Mike Tomlin's contract through the 2024 season," said Steelers President Art Rooney II. "Mike is one of the most successful head coaches in the National Football League, and we are confident in his leadership to continue to lead our team as we work to win another championship."

Tomlin says he is extremely grateful for the extended opportunity Art Rooney II is giving him with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He says he is looking forward to the opportunity presented to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization heading into the 2021 season. His goal is to bring the seventh trophy to the City of Pittsburgh. Tomlin will walk into his 15th season with a record of 145-78-1 regular-season record. That is ranked 21st in NFL History and 3rd most among active NFL Head Coaches in the NFL.
