Adrian Peterson without a doubt is a Hall of Fame back. I think the Steelers should bring him in to mentor the future Steelers running back. Imagine a running back room with Najee Harris, Benny Snell and Adrian Peterson. Is that a pipe dream? Maybe. However, I feel like Adrian could be relied on in the short yardage situations.
Last year, he had 156 runs for 604 yards and 7 touchdowns. He averaged almost four yards per carry. That was also with the Lions. So, it would pretty cool to see how he would do with the Steelers for a year.
However, he has said that he wants to be paid and that's something the Steelers won't really be able to do. If he doesn't go back to the Lions I think any contender would be a good fit. Especially the Buccaneers. If I were him I would definitely consider playing with Tom Brady for a chance to get a ring.
The best the Steelers should offer him is a 1-year deal with incentives that is worth up to $5-7 million. I just don't see the Steelers offering him that much. I still think he has something left in the tank. He is still 36 though. He seems to built different then other running backs though so I think he continues to defy the laws of father time. I think he definitely has another year or two in him at the RB2 position.
