The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be revamping their running game heading into 2021. Art Rooney II has promised they will be fixing the running game before the season starts. The Steelers want to get back to their old ways as they had with Le'Veon Bell, Jerome Bettis, and Barry Foster. They want to return back to their power running game.
Drafting an elite running back and bringing in a veteran back would not be a bad idea. The Steelers running back room is very young and they could use some veteran presence to help them develop. Mark Kaboly says Adrian Peterson has expressed interest in playing for the Steelers. Kaboly says it would be a good idea if he takes $1 million. Peterson could be a short-yardage guy but more importantly, he could bring veteran leadership to an awfully young room that will get younger after the draft.
Peterson is soon to be 36 years old and has played 10 seasons with 4 different organizations. He will have some tread, but again he knows how to be a veteran presence for a young running back group who struggled in 2020. Drafting Najee Harris, Javonte Williams or Travis Etienne and pairing him up with Adrian Peterson with Anthony McFarland Jr and Benny Snell would not be a bad idea at all.
