A look ahead to the 2021 Season

The season is finally over! I'm so proud of the NFL for actually being able to do a full season. It wasn't without its hiccups, however, still it's quite an accomplishment to do what they did this season and I'm happy they were able to do it.

This week, Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers are meeting to discuss his salary. He is slated to make 41 million dollars this season and that is just not a good number for his current production. I hope they can somehow severely cut that down so they can hopefully find a way to bring back JuJu or Bud Dupree. Possibly even both? We will see, the Steelers have a lot of time to try and work out something between their players to free up cap space.

Ben needs to understand that this season is his last chance to get a ring and he will need to say goodbye to some of the money in order to bring back some of the players that will help us get to that elusive Super Bowl appearance. It's been too long and I hope that we can get back sooner rather than later.

Next season for the Steelers though looks very daunting. The Steelers could be losing many key players in Free Agency due to an already bleak looking Salary Cap situation. So, we will see what is the result of that in the coming months.

The Draft will be fast approaching and it will be exciting to see who our newest Steelers will be. Could it be a QB, RB, OL or all three. We will just have to see what happens. This team needs a lot of help and I think the draft will potentially help us there quite significantly.

I'm quite nervous for this season, this was our year and we blew it. So, I'm hoping somehow next season we are able to make some noise and possibly win it all. Still, it's looking less and less likely with the competition getting better and better. The Browns are looking better, the Ravens are always a competition and the Bengals got their QB. So, where will that leave us? We will just have to see.
